The X Games

So the X Games were tons of fun! The drive into Aspen you see Buttermilk Mountain where all the X Game stuff is set up. Totally awesome! Everyone there was dressed to party! Snowboards, ski's and lots of fun food and vendors galore! Oakley had a tent and we got to try the new shades coming out this spring. All I'm gonna say is they are really cool. We got to the X Games just in time to see Shaun White do his last run on the snowboard competition for Day 1. That's him in the snow picture, wiping out. David snagged a free bandanna... imagine that... from Edge. Mountain Dew was flowing like the fish of Capistrano and free chap stick everywhere you went. We saw a guy with the biggest, blondest Mohawk ever. Kinda freaky but he may have been a little on the drugged out side. Who knows. Next year, we're volunteering to help out!

Aspen

We decided to be somewhat spontaneous and head up to Aspen for the weekend. There was a motive with it... to see the X Games. Our journey up to Aspen was uneventful. It was the hotel we got in Eagle that caught our attention. Nice for the price and very homey. Definately worth considering again. Our trip into Aspen (Eagle is about 1 1/2 hours away from Aspen) was beautiful. We went through Glenwood Springs which we may venture to tomorrow as well to hit the Hot Springs outdoor pool! We saw tons of great shopping in Aspen.... they even have Lush there! This great soap store mom took us to when we were in London. Every kind of soap and bath ball you could ever imagine. Not only did we get some soap...we got some FREE soap! That's the best. They were handing out tons of free stuff all over Aspen due to the games in town this weekend. All in all... Aspen was worth the drive.
