David's got a job in Aspen!

David got a job in Aspen this past Monday as a cop! We moved him up last week and he's getting the groove of Basalt and Aspen down. We have gotten a townhome in Basalt (about 20 minutes south of Aspen) that we'll be renting for this year. We'll be keeping the place in Denver for now as I still need a place to crash when I'm in town! You can't complain when it's Aspen and Castle Rock! Both great places to live.

The cats are adjusting to not having anyone home...but we'll figure all this out over the next few months!

For our anniversary this year we went to Austin TX to run a half marathon. I know... not the norm...but we had a ton of fun! 6th street was great at night...they shut it down to all cars...only college pedestrians! Of course we saw some odd balls.

We ventured to the capital and Texas Tech university for the day.

the BBQ was different, but not bad...

The race was GREAT! Perfect weather...a late start but once we got going the 13.1 miles drifted by! We had a great time and would probably go back!

Boulder City, NV

The last half of our trip was in Boulder City...about 20 minutes outside of Vegas. It's close to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. We stayed at the Hacienda Hotel and Casino...not what I would call a family friendly place...but it was decent. David ran a marathon on Saturday around Lake Mead...Running from and Angel. We met some really cool runners... as well as some crazy runners. If you've never been to a race before all I can say is true blood runners are all about running. The good thing is it gets you addicted all over again.

David did his best time! 4:50! The wind was hard, the course was hilly and the weather was cold and then hot. All in all, we had a great time.

We spent a bit of time at Hoover Dam. If you haven't been...you really should make the time to go.

NYE and Vegas pics...

Here are some pics from the trip! These are a combo of our stay at Bellagio as well as NYE's. We watched the guy jump his motorcycle up onto the arch at The Paris hotel...you can kinda see him...the blue dot.

We had fun! But it's doubtful Vegas will be a destination stop for us for vacation again in the future! We're on to other cities!
